A morning letter « Thread Started on Apr 23, 2008, 1:46am »
The letter is delivered by a young boy, whose mother is the maid at Lord Boyd's house. Obviously, the boy does not have all the titles down, but he does, however, use the word "sir" quite frequently in his attempt to be as polite as he possibly can.

Greetings in this fine morning hour, Marquess of Emerson.
I trust this letter has not gone astray, though the boy has never been by Your house before at my request. Can You imagine my surprise as I heard? It had me wondering when I invited You last and I seem to recall it has been quite a while, though I am of course not known for my delicate way of throwing parties. Still, seeing as one is to take place tonight at the revelation of all these months of speculations as to what Lord David Boyd could possibly be up to, what with the re-decoration of his house, I thought it only just to invite You to come. Please do forgive me for the lateness of the invitation, but really, I had not even thought about having a dinner party until this very morning, which, in some ways I suppose, makes the transmit of this request almost quick.
I would be delighted to see You if Your evening has not already been planned, as would dear Anne Bromley, I am quite sure. Beatrice Howard will join shortly before leaving for the theatre - Alas, what would they do without their leading lady - and I am inviting the Haworth's as well. I am picturing it to be a small, yet lovely and humble gathering.
I will be expecting to hear from You, accepting or declining the invitation, hoping it is not too much to ask for. The maid would of course take great pleasure in knowing how many plates she has to put on the dinner table and just how much food exactly.

Boyd.
It is indeed refreshing to hear from you, and indeed an honor to be considered for an invitation. Indeed, I will accept your invitation, but will return home to escort my family to the theatre. I assume from the particular mention of the Viscountess, I have no need to bring an escort?

Emerson,
I am quite sure Anne and I, along with other guests, would be more than willing to take up all of Your time, but an escort is more than welcome, should You wish to bring someone. Let me know in due time and I will ask the maid to set the correct number of plates. I believe there is saying, saying the more, the merrier, is there not? Also, I believe the guest of honour would be more than delighted to meet a few Londoners, unless I am seriously mistaken.
